This mushroom is very abundant in wood chip areas in the spring time. It is yellowish to tan in color. The cap is usually a darker shade than the stem. The stem may appear completely white in some cases. The color variation can be quite broad. It will have a thin veil which may, or may not, leave a ring on the stem. On older specimens the ring zone may not be apparent at all. But in their abundance, you will likely be able to find specimens of several ages when you find one. Spore print will be brown. This is a medium sized mushroom and should be easy to see.
