This little cup can grow into a large mostly flattened more typical peziza shape. At which point it’s difficult to determine which peziza species it actually is. However, when it’s young it easier to identify. When in it’s younger, smaller, cup form The outside of the cup will be reddish brown with a grainy texture. The bumps will be more red than the reddish brown background they are on.
