Phaeocollybia christinae ( Christina’s rootshank )

This was a difficult one to ID for me. Overall it looks similar to a waxcap and also felt very waxy, but doesn’t bruise black like similar looking waxcaps. It has a pointy umbo like some entolomas, but the spore color and shape was not a match. The stipe was long and strong Iike some marasmius species. It was so waxy and strong that I had a difficult time pulling it from the ground. It was only by chance that I stumbled upon it’s photo on
